42nd Street Cir: 1993

42nd Street in New York City is home to some of the most iconic theaters in the world. Amazed by the architecture and the theaters, Albert took pictures of the buildings with his Canon AE-1 camera. More than 25 years later, Albert used those same pictures to create his piece 42nd Street Cir: 1993.

The piece includes the Selwyn and Apollo theaters and the adjoining buildings in between them. The sculpture also features Jenny Holzer’s groundbreaking installation, “Marquees.” As a fellow Rhode Island School of Design graduate, Albert has always been inspired by Jenny and regards her as both a rebel and artistic legend. 42nd Street Cir: 1993 pays homage to both 42nd Street and Jenny.
